Diets can never work. A diet is a quick fix for a lifetime of bad eating habits. I wish that I was a personal trainer telling you this but I am a simple overweight 30 something woman who has tried most diets! From Atkins to South beach to the one I just finished a few days ago. When I say finished I mean I gave up on it because it was very strict. I did lose six pounds in six days with the latest diet I was on, so that shows that diets can help you lose weight. The problem with the diet I was on as with most diets is that it is ridiculous to think that anyone can stay on a diet forever. Unless it is a plan that teaches you about nutrition and making a lifestyle change forget it! Diets that ask you to eat foods you don’t like or you are starving to death by noon will fail. I have been very successful in the past with losing weight on several well known diets. Did I keep it off? Um no! Did I gain back more that I lost? Yes! Diets can’t work without a plan to change your whole life, not just a meal plan or meal replacements. We need to learn what works for our bodies and what we can live with our whole life. I can not live my life know that for the rest of it I have to eat a food bar for two meals a day!
I am talking as a heavy person so I can be blunt. We as “chubby” people got chubby for a reason. Now if you are one of the few who has a thyroid problem or other medical reason that you are heavy don’t be offended with what I am saying. I know that I am fat because I eat food that is high in sugar and mainly a processed food diet. I have been a bigger girl my whole life. I love cake, cookies, ice cream and most anything you can find at a fast food restaurant! I am not a fan of anything remotely healthy! I over eat and I indulge in whatever I want. Now how can a person who eats like I eat not get fat. Never mind the fact that my treadmill and I have been in a fight for the past several years. I know several chubby people and they like me make very poor choices when it comes to food. Now how is a quick fix like a diet going to help us? I say it can never do for us what gaining an understanding of food and nutrition can do.
I am a carb person. I do not really like meat, unless it is resting in between a bread product. With knowing that information I had to find a way to still eat bread and start to get healthy. I gave up on diets three days ago when after only being on the very strict plan I wanted to hurt people for food! So in this short time I read a book on lifestyle choices and food. The trick to losing weight is that you can lose it with a diet but you will only keep it off if you make serious changes in your life. I have come to the conclusion that sugar is my problem and am now starting to change how I eat. If you look back in the past, thousand of years back, they did not have the weight problem we have now. They ate good foods, steaks, potatoes, bread and of course vegetables. What they did not consume very much of was sugar. My suggestion to you is to back away from the billion dollar diet industry and learn about what is healthy. Watch the labels! Just because it says smart or healthy on it doesn’t mean it isn’t loaded with sugar! Know what you want and go get it! I will be thin this time next year because I gave up on diets and am changing my life!
I suppose I should apologize to my treadmill as I hear that along with eating right exercising helps in the battle of the bulge!
Two simple lifestyle changes that will help you to eliminate stress are:
a. Training yourself to develop your sense of humour and
b. Using your imagination.
A little imagination goes a long way, and during times of stress we often lose sight of how to imagine ourselves in nice situations and find things to do to de-stress ourselves.
C’est la vie; often when we need something most it is furthest from our grasp and this is a vicious circle. So for that reason here are a few reminders and tips of easy ways to eliminate stress during this or any crisis.
1. Change your reactions little by little – bearing in mind that the traditional response to extreme stress is “fight or flight” it is important to change it up gradually.
This is a built in reaction and can often be used for situations where it is not really deserved. Check yourself the next time you feel yourself stressing out and ask yourself does this deserve a “fight or flight” reaction? When you start to see that you may be over-reacting sometimes this will put things into perspective and you will feel less stressed.
2. The world is falling apart all around us, between the economy, the very structure of society and now the pig flu. You are the only person who is responsible for your own happiness.
Remember that simple pleasures go a long way. Find something to luxuriate in, and run a bath, fill it with, my personal choice is J&E Atkinsons I Coloniali Energising Bath Cream with Olibanum. This is made up of olibanum plant extract which has very calming and soothing qualities according to ancient Indian medicine. Well works for me!
Turn on your favourite music and light a few candles, and transport yourself to another world.
3. Get out into nature……you may have heard this before, but it works. Even if the weather is not good, it is so important to make that effort, as most of us spend far too long every day in artificial surroundings and we were not actually designed for this. Although the computer generation will find that hard to believe…
4. Live in the moment one of humankind’s most common mistakes is to live in the past or the future, and not in the moment.
We spend so much time regretting or looking back to the past, and apart from learning from our past experiences, the past should be left in the past. No harm to enjoy fond memories, just be healthy about this.
Or we look to the future, wondering if all will be ok, will we be successful, find love, have money, health etc. and while we’re so busy with our thoughts in the past and the future, what are we doing..we’re missing out on the present!
Live in the moment, enjoy observing and being part of it, this helps eliminate stress, even only because you have so less for your thoughts to deal with at once.
5. Don’t take yourself too seriously.
A crisis can lead to people becoming overly serious, and this take us away from true creativity and talent. Focus on finding ways to laugh at yourself from time to time, and make others laugh whenever possible.
Laughter is a wonderful medicine.
6. Make love not war.
Making love in a good relationship is another great way to eliminate stress. Avoid getting tied up in the “I’m too stressed or too tired”, and make love instead. Excuse the tied up pun by the way!
7. The weekend de-stress recipe (or when you have at least 2 hours to spare de-stress cocktail):
Go for a wild walk in nature, take a dog if you have one! Observe every little sensation along the way. Leave any troubles at your front door before going out.
Come back as dirty, wet and sweaty as you please and run yourself a luxurious bath, try the recommended J&E Atkinsons I Coloniali for extra effect. As you run your bath make sure to have a laugh at how messy you look…assuming you do after your wild walk.
Enjoy your luxurious bath, and by now you should be ready to tip toe to surprise your partner. If you don’t have a suitable partner to lure into your clutches, get yourself prepared with a favourite comedy and nibbles.
In a recent study done by Unisys Security Index, sixty six percent of those surveyed stated that they feared somewhere along the way they would become victims of identity theft. That’s not really surprising since it ranks as the number one consumer complaint for the eighth year in a row.
Identity theft however came in a close second behind fear of debit card misuse. In a way they are connected by a form of identity fraud known as skimming.
When you were a little younger, skimming probably meant throwing rocks along the water and seeing how many times it could bounce across the surface. Now it’s taken on an added meaning which if you are not careful can rob you of every penny in your credit card account.
Skimming can happen at any store or restaurant where you use your credit card to make a transaction. For instance at a restaurant you hand the waiter or waitress your credit card. They leave your line of vision and swipe the card through an electronic device known as skimmer. In less than a second the skimmer stores your credit card information. No doubt if some crooked employee is skimming your card then they have probably done this to quite a number of people.
However it doesn’t stop there. The connection with debit card misuse can be a number of things but usually it’s the form of the automatic teller machine. An unsuspecting person goes to make a transaction but after inputting their personal identification number, a message pops up stating the machine is out of order. No problem right? Just retrieve your card and go find another atm. Except that unbeknown to you, a skimming device was put in place to read your card information as well as your pin number. It doesn’t take too long after that for thieves to drain your account.
Therefore after you have used your card to make a transaction, check back frequently that everything appears to be in order. Unfortunately skimming along with the advent of new technology and the tweaking of the traditional tried and true methods of thievery will guarantee that identity theft remains at the top of the consumer list for a long time to come.
“Always let your subordinates know that the honor will be all theirs if they succeed and the blame will be yours if they fail”-Abraham Lincoln
The lines to follow such a dialog are meaningless given the reputation regarding leadership of above named. A good leader will know when the failure is his or rather his leadership. For if he is the leader, then the rest will follow him into failure, not try to outrun him towards failure, due to the fact that no one runs towards failure, yet the compass in the group directs them to that route.
I ask, “how can there be failure, if your men and women are being led, rather even in failure in observance of your wishes that was the outcome?” Then you as a leader know they succeeded on a path you set up for failure.Though you failed in your leadership, the followers proved you were a successful leader.
A true leader will know his Judas beforehand, and to shame the team is enough to keep even Judas on the end of a rope. Loyalty to the group will be the binding that holds the ship together. The team looks up to the leader, for he is the shield and the sword of the group. In instances you have seen that John Wayne bravado. The war films picture it heroically. The weary commander telling his troops, “I’m the first in, and the last to leave!” A true leader knows the behind the scene heroics that he or she must face. She does not point a finger, but rather they say “Follow me,” heroically into the charge whether in battle, at a desk, or wherever a true leader may be.
The men and women whom empower the team, and move them out of pure motivation for the group and themselves. Those are the true leaders. And when it is all over, they look at his or her team and say “Good Job.” As corny as that sounds, we as teammates live for that. To have your leader look you in the eyes, and for that brief second it is as if heaven itself were talking to you. We sink or swim as a team, and when the waters get choppy and when the boat capsizes, we know the captain is at the bottom of the sea, an analogy for he will weather the storm to complete the mission rather than risk our lives and reputations to ruin. And in the end, sometimes the hero rides out of town as a villain, but you know deep down he’s a hero. For at the risk of his or her career and livelihood he saved his team. I personally would follow anyone of that magnitude, for they are truly the better person.
To assess whether life insurance is worth the “high premiums”, you must understand the value of a particular policy relative to its premium. The reality is that the benefits of life insurance exceed just the life cover. Another cogent aspect of reality is that not all life insurance premiums are justifiably high or higher.
Life insurance companies typically aim to offer more benefits, especially on cash value plans. Therefore, the question has more than one dimension. You have to relate the life cover you get against your premium but also factor in the value of additional benefits your particular policy may offer. Only then can you properly determine if life insurance is really worth it.
== Benefits of life insurance ==
The main benefit of life insurance is life cover. This may seem self-evident, but the truth is that insurers love to market the life policies in creative ways–sometimes even downplaying the significance of life coverage. They tend to emphasize the other benefits that go along with the life cover. The primary benefits of life insurance policies may include:
i) Life coverage
ii) Double indemnity
iii) Critical illness
iv) Disability coverage and income disability coverage
v) Cash value
vi) Pension savings
Naturally, the benefit package offered varies between life insurance policies—even policies of the same type. For example, you can purchase a Universal Life insurance policy with or without critical illness. In addition, once you choose a term insurance plan, you would not have cash savings as a benefit.
== Life insurance premiums ==
Although the title assumes that life insurance premiums are high, they may not always be high, depending on the benefits you choose. However, some life insurance premiums can really take a bite out of your budget, particularly for low-income earners. Term insurance is usually the cheapest form. Whole Life Insurance plans are generally the most expensive. Some insurers do not even offer Whole Life policy again, preferring to offer the more seductive Universal Life Plan. One point that many persons miss is that a high premium must be measured in terms of your budget and—most importantly—the value you receive in return.
Is life insurance worth the high premiums?
Unfortunately, there is no decisive answer. However, once you are getting commensurate value for your money, it is worth it. Sometimes, it is prudent or even necessary to have the life insurance policy. In some cases, paying a higher premium
to get additional benefits can actually reduce the cost of those additional benefits. For example, some insurers offer Critical Illness coverage on permanent insurance plans. Those plans may offer similar benefits to a stand-alone Critical Illness plan but you might purchase them at a reduced rate as an optional supplementary benefit.
The major aspect of whether life insurance is worth the high premiums comes from the debate, “cash value versus term insurance.” Several financial advisors opine that permanent insurance is a waste of time and that term insurance is best suited to your life insurance needs. They argue that the higher premiums of cash value plans are not worth the life insurance premium.
Many advisors agree that having life insurance is necessary for a period (a “necessary evil” in fact) but, for them, less (in terms of the premium) is more. It is true that higher premiums of cash value insurance do not always redound to your benefit. However, if you are so undisciplined that you would not save on your own, maybe you might be better off letting your insurer save for you. The higher premium of the cash value plan may actually be worth it to some persons in that regard.
Sometimes, insurers attempt to provide pseudo-benefits to justify high premiums. For example, a neat trick is to offer additional benefits (like disability coverage) but the coverage amount of the additional benefits are minimal. The client is satisfied that he is paying for additional coverage but does not realise he is not necessarily getting much more in return.
In many cases, the high premiums of life insurance are not worth it. Nothing is worth anything if you do not need it (or have a latent/future need). If a smooth insurance representative sells you insurance, but does not evaluate your needs properly, that life insurance plan may not be worth it—no matter how low your premium is.
There is also the case of insurers packing their life insurance as investment opportunities. Your insurance premium includes investment fees and charges. Therefore, you may pay higher premiums with no guarantee that the fund will perform well. In many cases, regardless of how well the fund performs, the insurer deducts those fees. Clearly, if you want life cover, you should not be paying unnecessary high premiums to get additional benefits that are not worth it.
Before you determine whether your “high” life insurance premium is worth it, you must assess your life insurance need and choose the right type of policy from the right insurer. You should also ensure that you know how much extra you are paying for the benefits—by comparison shopping or noting what part of your premium goes to which benefit.

It is impossible to know what is going to happen, especially when it comes to our finances. The current state of the economy makes that statement all the more frightening. But the truth is that sometimes we get backed into a corner financially. If you find yourself in a situation where you need a quick influx to cash to get you moving, or help you get over a hurdle an unsecured personal loan might just be your best bet. If you have had an unexpected vehicle, or home repair that must be done immediately, or perhaps you are about to leave on vacation and find that you are short to pay for the reservations you have already made. When these times of financial crisis strike, an instant unsecured personal loan is often the best answer.
Unsecured Personal Loans
An unsecured personal loan is an advance of money from a financial lender without any collateral to secure it. This means if you do not own a home or a car to put up as collateral he financial institution will only have legal recourse to get their money back should you default on paying according to the terms of your loan. Lending groups will run your credit report to help them determine what type of interest rate to give you. The lower your credit score the higher the interest rate, this is due to the perceived threat of risk the lender is taking on based off of your credit score. If you have poor credit, don’t despair, there are many unsecured personal loan agencies that will still give you a loan even with a bad credit score. Just know that you will face a higher interest rate.
Unsecured personal loans really vary from company to company and loan to loan. Borrows can get anywhere for a few hundred dollars to a few thousand. Repayment terms vary just as much. Some loans require repayment within a few weeks, while others will take up a couple of years for repayment. There are a lot of choices out there so it is important to do your research.
Repayment
A very important step to choosing a loan is the terms of repayment. It is vital that you make sure you can afford the monthly payment that is being suggested by the lending group. Getting an unsecured personal loan often means that you are already in a financial pickle. Not following the repayment terms and not paying the loan back timely will only cause further financial problems. Before signing any paperwork make sure that you can afford to take on the monthly financial burden that this loan will put upon you.
Finding the Right Loan
The best place to look for an unsecured personal loan is on the internet. There are hundreds of companies specializing in just these types of loans. They are set up to deal with the high risk borrowers. Often they are much easier to work with than a bank or credit union.
Using unsecured loans to pay off debt is probably not a good idea, but there are clear exceptions to this so you really have to consider your situation thoroughly.
Generally speaking it’s not a good plan because when you don’t offer up any kind of collateral and borrow money your interest rates will be considerably higher. That mixed in with the fact that your credit may not be so great-because of the debt problems you’re having-and then you have a very high interest rate. It takes a lot longer to get out of debt if the interest keeps adding to it and making things worse.
There are exceptions to this of course because a lot of debts have such high interest rates-like credit card debt, payday loans, etc–that any rate you are offered on an unsecured loan will be less than that.
There is still another exception to this where paying the higher interest rates may be worth it to you. If you have multiple debts, or if your debt is in some other way becoming uncontrollable–for instance, you have gone into default on the debt and have creditors calling you constantly-you may feel things will be much easier for you to start over with a new loan. Starting over like this can be a good option, but it’s something you have to be very careful about, because as I said earlier, if you end up taking a higher interest rate you’ll end up owing more money and this can make paying it off that much harder.
On the positive side, however, you get to start over. This can be freeing. It can also help your credit report to have paid off that old debt, and be making on time payments with your new loan. If you carefully plan out your budget and know that you’ll be able to handle the new loan this can work out well for you.
We all know the many “free” traffic producing avenues. We all know about free classified ads, traffic exchanges, web site submitters, banner exchanges, link exchanges, but how many of you have ever thought of this FREE traffic avenue! In the past I have tried, I think, every free method of advertising, and have also had some success with the variety of free advertising resources. I have also tried different paid advertising sources. They have been very effective in building my business, but many times have proven to costly, especially when you are just starting out in a new business. So I was always on a quest to find new and better ways to advertise. Then I met a person on line with the secret!!
Now, your probably wondering what I could possibly be referring to when I claim to have a source of free advertising that is not commonly practiced. What could I possibly be doing to bring traffic to my website that many other marketers are not prating. What do I know that most of you don’t know. Well, I am going to give you the secret right now!
Some time ago, I met a person who was pretty effective in online advertising. After many email correspondences, and being told of all the free ways to advertise, he confided in me. He told me one of the most effective, and FREE, ways to advertise your business is to write articles. At that time I thought he was crazy!! Writing articles? How on earth can writing articles promote my business? After I corresponded with this person, I discovered the “how” in my question. He gave me alot of incite into this method of adverting. Now I will share this knowledge with you!
Here is the hidden source of traffic in writing an article. When I have completed the article, I write a few sentences about myself and include my website address or email address. (Please see bottom of this article for an example.) Ok, what do I do after I write an article? There are many ezine owners that would love to print your article. Search out ezines that would fit the category in which your article would be of interest to the readers. Contact the owner. Or you can find places that you can submit your article to which is like a data base for ezine owners to go to when looking for content for their newsletter.
Secondly, there are webmasters who would love to put your article on their site. By using your article, they don’t have to do all the “pencil pushing” work, and they get good content for the web site. If the have a good web site, with alot of good info then they will get more visitors, and happy visitors at that! Meanwhile these people will read your article and some of them will visit your web site. In this way, you are giving something to someone and getting something in return….FREE traffic. Placing these articles in as many places as you can find will increase the number of visitors to your site.
What can you write about? Anything!! Write about anything you can. Maybe you have some good cooking tips. Write an article about your tips. Find appropriate web sites, newsletters, and ezines to submit the article to. Or maybe you are a mechanic, and can give some do it yourself tips. Write out your tips, and again find appropriate places to submit your article to. Maybe you don’t feel like you have anything to write about. How about the vacation spot you visited last summer? Write a review! You see there is so much information on the web. There are so many sites looking for content about such a variety of topics, you can write about anything and find places to submit your article.
Now stop and think about it! If you know anything about ezines, you will know some of them have 1,000′s and 10′s of thousands of readers. Some may only have hundreds of readers, but multiple that by 5 or 10 and the number of folks being exposed to your web site is quite alot! Now maybe your are starting to see why writing articles are such a good source of free traffic! So Get Started!
